Local Internet domain name registrar, Qinetics Solutions Bhd will develop, implement and maintain a domain registry system for Hong Kong Domain Name Registration Co Ltd (HKDNR) over the next four years, the two companies announced last week.
However, both companies did not reveal how much the deal was worth.
The new system will allow HKDNR to provide new services and features to its ".hk" top-level domain name customers, increase the number of ".hk" domain names, and enable it to provide high service reliability by adopting the Extensible Provisioning protocol international standard.
Qinetics chief executive officer, TK Tan claimed they were the only Asian solutions provider among European and American bidders for the contract.
"The award from the HKDNR is a historical milestone for us. It's an important recognition in our effort to move up the value chain in the domain name registration business," he said.
Besides being and Internet services and enterprise solutions provider, Qinetics is an exclusive ".cc" domain name registrar since its inception in 2000 and has 750 resellers in 30 countries, Tan said.
Qinetics can be reached at (03) 8996-6788 and has a website at www.webnic.cc - Charles F. Moreira |
