Qinetics Awarded by SGNIC to provide Registry System
 

RegistryASP, a division of Qinetics undertake the turnkey project for the provisioning of Registry-Registrar system for .SG domain names for about SG$1.2 million.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia — 19 May 2008 — Malaysian-based Qinetics Solution Berhad ("Qinetics") has been awarded by Singapore Network Information Centre (SGNIC) Private Limited ("SGNIC") for the provisioning of a registry-registrar domain name system for .SG domain name.

SGNIC has gone through a thorough tender process to upgrade the current Registry-Registrar system, in anticipation of further growth in the Internet industry in Singapore and also to streamline SGNIC’s operation.

RegistryASP, a division of Qinetics dedicated for Shared Registry-Registrar System (SRS) solutions will undertake the entire turnkey project and support service for the system.

Qinetics’ CEO, Mr. TK Tan, attributed Qinetics’ success in the tender to its price competitiveness, technical superiority, proven track record in Registry-Registrar solutions and ongoing involvement in domain name development such as IDN1 and DNS2 technologies.

1IDN — Internationalized Domain Name, means domain names in native languages such as Chinese, Tamil and Arabic.
2DNS — Domain Name System, serves as "phone book" of the Internet, translating human-readable names into IP addresses.
